Fireworks Fountain Grass

Unlike the species, this cultivar does not reseed. May be overwintered indoors or in greenhouse. Pennisetum prefers to be grown in rich loamy soil with good drainage and full sun or light shade. However, it will grow in rocky or sandy soil as long as it remains fairly moist. This grass resents having "wet feet". Medium. PENNISETUM. xa. 'Fireworks' PP18504. 2-3' tall, 2' spread, full sun-part shade. The first variegated purple fountain grass! The new leaves are longitudinally striped with white, green, and burgundy, lending a candy cane-like appearance to the foliage. In full sun, the green and white stripes become fully infused with hot pink, turning the entire clump into a glowing mass of hot pink and red foliage. Deer resistant. Warm season. Hardy in zones 9-10, annual everywhere else. Potted in 3" pot.
